A name, phone number, or address entered in a search box is handled by the provider serving that search experience. Westland Residents Directory does not retain a separate copy of those queries. A message sent to us contains the information included in that message and is used to respond.
Routine Technical Information
Hosting services may create ordinary logs, including IP address, browser type, visited pages, and timestamps. We review aggregated technical information to maintain the service and understand use. Cookies or similar tools can support basic analytics and, where relevant, advertising measurement.
How Information Is Used
Information is used to operate the service, address technical problems, measure aggregate traffic, and improve its reference pages. We do not sell a visitor list or create individual visitor profiles.
External Services and Links
Links may lead to Westland, Wayne County, Michigan, library, archive, or third-party search services. Those services control their own forms and privacy practices. The same is true for sponsored search results supplied by another company.
Service Providers and Disclosures
Providers that host or support the service may process the technical logs described above. Analytics or advertising partners can receive automatic data for their services. Information is disclosed when valid legal process requires it.
Safeguards and Retention
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational purposes stated here. Because visitor accounts are not offered, Westland Residents Directory does not hold account passwords or visitor profiles.
Visitors Under 18
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Contact us if a minor has sent information, and we will remove it.
Requests About Your Information
Depending on where a visitor lives, access, correction, or deletion rights may apply to data a service keeps. Michigan did not have a comprehensive consumer-privacy law in the official state statement reviewed for this project; proposed measures are not a basis for claiming a current statewide deletion right. Because this service holds little information, a request normally concerns a contact message or technical log. Use the Contact page. Public records held by a Michigan, Wayne County, or Westland custodian are outside our control and must be addressed to that office.
